EYE MOVEMENT DESENSITIZATION AND PROCESSING
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It’s a type of psychotherapy developed to help people process and heal from traumatic experiences. The therapy involves a structured approach where the therapist helps the client focus on distressing memories while simultaneously guiding them through specific sets of bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements, taps, or sounds.
PERSON-CENTERED THERAPY
Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and genuineness in therapeutic relationships. It focuses on empowering clients to explore their own experiences, emotions, and goals, guiding them towards self-discovery, self-acceptance, and personal growth.
COGNITIVE-BEHAVIORAL THERAPY (CBT)
A goal-oriented therapeutic approach that focuses on identifying and challenging negative thought patterns and behaviors. It aims to help individuals develop more adaptive coping strategies and achieve lasting changes in their emotions and behavior.
MINDFULNESS-BASED THERAPY
Emphasizes present-moment awareness and non-judgmental acceptance of thoughts, emotions, and sensations. It integrates mindfulness practices like meditation, breathing exercises, and body awareness to promote emotional regulation, and stress reduction.
PSYCHO-DYNAMIC THERAPY
Explores how unconscious thoughts and past experiences influence present emotions and behavior. It aims to uncover and resolve deep-seated conflicts, patterns, and dynamics that impact mental health and relationships, fostering insight, self-awareness, and lasting psychological growth.
ACCEPTANCE & COMMITMENT THERAPY (ACT)
Emphasizes acceptance of thoughts and emotions rather than trying to control or eliminate them. It encourages clients to identify their values and commit to taking meaningful actions aligned with those values, even in the presence of difficult thoughts and feelings.
