What this is

Psychotherapists in, done properly.

Trust Therapy is a psychotherapy clinic in Thornhill, Ontario, at 1118 Centre Street. Every clinician is registered in Ontario with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) or the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), or is a graduate student practising under the supervision of senior registered clinicians.

Rather than asking you to choose a therapist from a list, our admin matching team listens first and suggests the clinician whose experience, style, languages, and schedule fit. Sessions are in person at the office or by secure video across Ontario, with evening and Sunday hours.

You might be looking for this if
  • Anxiety, low mood, or stress that has started to run your days

How we work

Our approach in three parts.

01

Registered, supervised, accountable

Registered Psychotherapists and Registered Social Workers answer to their Ontario colleges for training, ethics, and continuing education. Graduate student clinicians work under the supervision of senior registered clinicians.

02

Matched, not assigned

The free consultation is a real conversation, not a form. We consider what you are dealing with, who you are most likely to feel comfortable with, and when you can actually attend, then recommend one clinician.

03

Languages and cultures

Sessions are available in English, Russian, Hebrew, Urdu, and Hindi, with clinicians who understand what it is like to hold more than one culture at once.

Good to know

Questions people ask us.

What is the difference between a psychotherapist, a social worker, and a psychologist?

In Ontario, Registered Psychotherapists (CRPO) and Registered Social Workers (OCSWSSW) are both regulated to provide psychotherapy, and both are covered by most extended health plans. Psychologists are regulated separately and can also perform formal psychological assessments and diagnoses. Trust Therapy provides psychotherapy and counselling; if you need a formal assessment we will tell you and point you to the right place.

Do I need a referral to see a psychotherapist?

No. You can book directly. Some insurance plans ask for a physician’s note before reimbursing psychotherapy, so it is worth checking your plan.

Where exactly is the office?

Our office is at 1118 Centre Street, Suite 205, in Thornhill, with evening hours Monday to Thursday, Friday until 2 PM, and Sunday appointments. It is a short drive from Vaughan, Richmond Hill, and North York.

Is this covered by insurance?

Most extended health plans cover psychotherapy delivered by a Registered Psychotherapist or Registered Social Worker, and we issue a receipt after every session for you to submit. Coverage amounts and eligible designations vary by plan, so please confirm with your insurer before your first appointment.
