Play and art for younger children
Drawing, sand, stories, and games let children show what they cannot yet say. Trained art and play therapists use that expression to help children understand and regulate their feelings.
Therapists who know how to talk to a nine-year-old, a thirteen-year-old, and a seventeen-year-old differently. Art and play therapy for younger children, talk therapy and CBT for teens, and parents kept in the loop throughout.

Children rarely say "I am anxious." They say their stomach hurts, they refuse school, they melt down at bedtime, or they go quiet. Child and teen therapy at Trust Therapy meets kids where they are, through play, art, and conversation, and gives parents a clear picture of what is going on and how to help at home.
We work with anxiety, school and exam stress, low mood, behaviour at home or school, ADHD and autism, big feelings that are hard to manage, social difficulties, grief, and family changes such as separation or a new sibling. Teens also come for identity, self-esteem, and the pressure that arrives with high school and university applications.
Drawing, sand, stories, and games let children show what they cannot yet say. Trained art and play therapists use that expression to help children understand and regulate their feelings.
Teens get a confidential space, a therapist who does not lecture, and practical tools from CBT, DBT skills, and solution-focused work for anxiety, mood, and the pressures of school and social life.
Parent sessions and check-ins give you language, strategies, and reassurance. With teens, we agree together on what stays private and what is shared, so trust is protected on both sides.

Our clinicians see children from about age six, teens through high school, and young adults. Which therapist we suggest depends on your child’s age and what they are dealing with.
With younger children, parents are closely involved and receive regular updates. With teens, confidentiality matters for the work to succeed, so the therapist agrees with you and your teen at the start on what is shared. Safety concerns are always communicated.
No. Many children come without any diagnosis. If an assessment for ADHD, autism, or a learning difference would help, your therapist will say so and point you to the right service.
Yes. Our office is at 1118 Centre Street, Suite 205, in Thornhill, with evening hours Monday to Thursday, Friday until 2 PM, and Sunday appointments. If coming in is not practical, the same clinicians see clients by secure video anywhere in Ontario, and in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan.
Most extended health plans cover psychotherapy delivered by a Registered Psychotherapist or Registered Social Worker, and we issue a receipt after every session for you to submit. Coverage amounts and eligible designations vary by plan, so please confirm with your insurer before your first appointment.
